Shaw Davidson

Shaw Davidson is an illustrator and maker based in Bristol. She spent several years living and studying by the lovely Cornish coastline at Falmouth University where she attained a BA Hons in Illustration. She now specialises in illustrating for children and has a particular passion for picture books.

Her illustrations are often inspired by literature, people and nature. She also loves history and is always drawing characters from different time periods. To create her work, she loves to use a wide range of traditional materials including gouache, watercolour, colour pencil and wax pastels. She enjoys playing with colour, pattern and texture to create the worlds with which her characters live.

Shaw's debut picture book is a beautiful retelling of the classic story, The Secret Garden. Written by Claire Freedman, it publishes in March 2020.
